I strongly oppose antisemitism, racism and discrimination in all forms. Zionism should not automatically be characterised as racism, just as Palestinian rights to dignity and self-determination must be respected. I reject the Green Party's blanket declaration and call for its reconsideration. As an elected Coventry City Councillor, I have a responsibility to represent all communities fairly, challenge prejudice wherever it arises, defend freedom of expression and promote mutual respect, equality and community cohesion above political division.

On 4 October 2026 the Green Party of England and Wales passed a motion declaring that "Zionism is racism". It brands as racism the belief, held by around nine in ten British Jews, that the Jewish people have the right to a homeland of their own, and binds the party to treat that belief "as any other form of racism". Councillors and MPs of every other party are being asked to say, in public, that Zionism is not racism.
